Salma Hayek: Budding Astronaut

Posted by Adam

SALMA Hayek wants to be an astronaut.

The sexy star, 46,  plays a nurse in her new movie Here Comes The Boom and although she enjoyed it she thinks being blasted into space would be a perfect job for her.

“I’m not squeamish but I would have preferred to be an astronaut or a flower shop owner [if acting hadn’t worked out],” she said.

The Mexican star has daughter Valentina, five, with husband Francois-Henri Pinault and says she learns a lot from the youngster.

Although Salma realizes it’s important to teach your kids good morals, the screen beauty insists parents have to let their offspring embrace their own unique personalities.

“[Motherhood has taught me] to let children be who they are. Guide them but get out of the way because they already know so much. It’s important to listen to them and learn from them,” she said.

Kim Kardashian Can’t Believe Her Family Don’t do Drugs

KIM Kardashian is shocked that none of her family are drug addicts.

The reality TV star and her siblings, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob, have had a very privileged yet sometimes difficult upbringing — their father, Robert, died of cancer in 2003 — and Kim admits they could have all gone off the rails.

“It’s crazy that none of us have got into drugs, considering the upbringing we’ve had,” she said.

“But my idols were women like Salma Hayek and Jennifer Lopez, so I gravitated more towards that model.

“My dad really set the tone – we weren’t allowed credit cards until we were 18, and we could never sleep out on Saturday nights because we had to go to church on a Sunday morning.”

Salma Hayek is “At the Limit of Chubbiness” At All Times

So, Salma Hayek did this interview with Canadian magazine, More, and in it, she talked about her self-esteem, her perception on what happiness is, and a whole mess of other things that’ll probably make you think, ‘Hey, what a nice-sounding girl. We could totally be besties’, but there’s … wait for it … MORE, guys. There’s even more. I’ll just … I’ll let you just read them.

Here’s Salma on her figure:

“I’m not a skinny girl. I push it. I’m at the limit of chubbiness at all times, but I’m happy at all times.”

On her Kryptonite—food:

“Everybody has a weakness. Mine is food. If you love food and you love red wine and they put you in France, you’re in a good place and you’re in a bad place at the same time. You have to weigh yourself every day, and you have to have an alarm number. When you get to that number, you have to start putting it in reverse.”

On what it’s like being a woman in her forties:

“I feel more relaxed. I don’t have to prove something. I don’t have that urge of ‘Something’s missing, gotta get out there and find it somehow.’ I was always dreaming big, but my life is better than anything I dreamed.”

So, on the whole, Salma Hayek definitely has a good sense of healthy self. But these comments about being at the “limit of chubbiness”? What, exactly, does that mean? Does she think that she’s a few pounds from chubby? Or is she saying that she’s fully chub, and a few pounds away from fat? Not sure, but in either case, the entire notion is totally absurd. Absurd. Salma Hayek would be a beautiful woman in any case. Why do we have to bring the word “chub” into it at all?
