Jennifer Lawrence Thinks It’s “Funny” She Has An “Overwhelming Career” When She Wanted Kids

Oh Jennifer Lawrence. We hope you were just being insane in your new Daily Beast interview, and not preternaturally self-aware like you almost always are. In her new interview, the Silver Linings Playbook actress talked to the British paper about the onslaught of professional success she’s had over the past couple years. “It’s so weird for a 22-year-old to say it. I do feel like the reason I was put on this Earth is to be a mother, which is why it’s funny for me to end up with such an overwhelming career,” she muses. “Ever since I was a baby, I was always playing house.” Oh, but can’t you have both, girl? We suggest you just print money until you’re 30, then quit Hollywood when you’re a millionaire. Then you can chill out on your sprawling Montana compound with your kids, watching Reba DVDs and eating eggplant parm until your pajama jeans explode at the seams. That’s what’s on our vision board at least!

Jennifer’s desire to live a creatively fulfilling yet paparazzi-free existence was so strong, she actually considered turning down The Hunger Games. Until her mom pointed out how absurd she was being, of course. “I had chosen my path. I was going to be the indie actor. I was going to drive my kids in a minivan and have a normal life,” Jennifer explains. “I knew if I said yes to this, it would change my life. I wasn’t sure if I was ready.” Oh god…that sounds so self-aware. If Academy Award-nominated 22-year-olds are worried about having it all, what should the rest of us do? Panic? Well, too late, that’s what we’re going with.

Her haircut in Friends was copied by women all over the world and became affectionately known as ‘the Rachel’.

And eight years after the doors of Central Perk closed for the last time and the hit sitcom wrapped, Jennifer Aniston’s mane still hasn’t strayed too far from that of her character’s.

But perfect tresses don’t come easily for anyone – even when you’re a Hollywood star.

The actress was seen getting some work on her famous head of hair on Friday.

The 43-year-old was spotted leaving her trusted salon after having some highlights done on her head of honey coloured hair.

Jennifer was seen walking through the parking lot after stepping out of the location while sporting an all-black ensemble.

She was dressed in a casual off-the-shoulder-top along with fitted trousers, boots and a leather handbag.

Her giant engagement ring was clearly visible as she clutched her mobile phone to ensure she was up to date with her messages.

Last weekend Jennifer was seen stocking up on household goods with her fiancé Justin Theroux.

It seems the pair are intent on perfecting their Bel Air love nest ahead of their wedding.

The
couple, who fell in love while filming Wanderlust together, are staying
tight-lipped about their forthcoming nuptials and are yet to reveal
whether or not they’ve actually set a date.

Justin proposed to Jennifer during a romantic dinner date to celebrate his birthday in New York in August.

Classy lady, she’s a very attractive woman in her 40’s not trying to look 20, quite refreshing to see from somebody who’s been in Hollywood for such a long time. Looking good girl

Mischa Barton leaves the Hollywood smiling to Melbourne Cup winner Brew

She is a Hollywood star so is doubtless familiar with the old showbiz adage: ‘Never work with children or animals.’

But like a true pro, The O.C. actress Mischa Barton took a little horseplay in her stride as she posed with the Melbourne Cup and its 2000 winner Brew in Australia on Tuesday.

Wearing a silver brocade dress with a chunky, metallic statement necklace and a black pillbox hat adorned with a large black silk rose, Mischa, 26, didn’t bat an eye even as the thoroughbred race horse whinnied and showed his teeth.

The British-born beauty attended the
star-studded prestigious race, as a guest of the Victoria Racing Club
and Emirates Airlines along with a gaggle of Antipodean celebs and
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Earlier in the day she was seen wearing a much less flattering burgundy dress, with draping reminiscent of the airline stewardesses uniforms along with a Philip Treacy fascinator.

‘It’s
more laid back than I thought it would be,’ Barton told reporters.
‘England is quite a big production. This experience has been generally
pretty laid back … everyone wants to have fun and have a nice day.’

The Los Angeles based actress was later joined by Revenge star Ashley Madekwe who
bemoaned the fact she was to fly back to the US tomorrow, as she will
miss the glamorous Oaks Day fashion on Thursday, where
Sex and the City’s Kim Cattrall will be in attendance.

‘I know, from what I have been told, racing is secondary,’ London born Madekwe told The West Australian. ‘It’s about what the women are wearing, big hats, people watching.’

‘If
today I see a really great trend then later on when I get home I might
try to work an outfit around it. Like if I see everyone is wearing blue
when I get home to the States I’ll try and find something blue and talk
about it that way.’

Looking elegant in Chanel Sydney-born Bridesmaids actress Rose Byrne told reporters she has always liked gambling on the Cup.

‘It’s my first time and I’m thrilled
to be here,’ she said. ‘My father is a real punter and we’re here (my
father and sister) and we’re having a bet.’

The fashion blooper of the event definitely went to Neighbours actress-turned-singer Delta Goodrem.

The
Born to Try singer, 27, looked more appropriately dressed for a child’s
birthday party in a bright pink tulle dress, matched with a pair of
unflattering taupe ballet flats and  a crown of roses on her head.
